Call for papers: The Finnish Case

kansi-2014-4-250Sosiologia, the Finnish journal of sociology published by the Westermarck Society, calls for papers for its first ever issue in English. Sosiologia is the leading journal for sociological research and debate in Finland. It reaches an extensive readership with nearly 1500 subscribers and library distribution through the nation-wide Elektra database. All submitted manuscripts go through a double-blinded peer review process.

The general theme of the issue is “The Finnish Case”: in short, sociological studies about the Finnish society in English. Empirical, methodological, and theoretical orientations are equally welcome. We wish the theme to be understood widely, and the selection of manuscripts will not be primarily based on suitability to the theme, but on the basis of academic quality.

The call for papers is open for all. However, we encourage submissions in particular from non-native-Finnish faculty, researchers, and PhD students working in Finland, on Finland – you who have thus far not had access to Sosiologia due to its language selection. The English issue is planned for publication in late 2015.

Please send your manuscript (up to 9000 words, including references) by March 15, 2015, to the editor Eeva Luhtakallio (firstname.lastname@helsinki.fi).

NB: Please use the APSA style in your manuscript.

For further information, please contact the editor or the subeditor Tuukka Ylä-Anttila (firstname.last-name@helsinki.fi).
